This poor Cubensis fruited off a piece of
cake that broke off and blended in with the perlite

it should have been picked / cropped almost 4 weeks prior
but it went un-noticed



as you can see it is quite gnarly.
spores have dropped continously and the base of the stem
had a greenish tint to it where it once was stained blue.
the gills are hanging and dangling.

besides it being quite fuzzy, it was also super-saturated with water.
so saturated that when it was 'harvested' and pressed on-
water flowed out of the mushroom itself.

just figured this could demonstrate what eventually happens
if cubensis are left to their own devices

this is the last time a cubie goes forgotten
