![]() | Damn nice pinset! Havent tried it mixed in cakes, but having straw in subs seems to give me the larger mushrooms. Give your cake a dunk after harvest and plenty of FAE. Second flush always seems to give me less, but larger fruit. Good luck and beautiful grow. |

![]() | I know you asked about indoors but my newest method is to let them pin indoors then put them in a bucket with the lid barely on outside and the mushies get huge without haveing to do anything

![]() | Idk i think thats a strand thing. My buddy had notoriously small fruits with Ban hua thanon...looked just like that. They pinned beautifully and there werea lot but they never matured big. He had luck with another strand increasing fruit size by printing the largest one and doing a few generations. If he were to do the BHT again he said he would do them on a bulk substrate like hpoo/straw and hopefully with that immense pinning and added nutrients in would balance to a nice flush.

![]() | Thai strains tend to be fairly small and numerous just like that, so it may just be a question of genetics in this case. However, a larger substrate block (bigger cake or go to bulk) and more FAE may give you better results.

![]() | Bongo! That answer that you seek actually lies with the percentage of moisture you may have in the cakes. As a result of overwatering the vermiculite layer becomes oversaturated and is absorbed by the mycellium essentialy waterlogging the mushrooms and causing them to stunt and mature so to speak. If you notice any dark strips along the length of the stems that are noticeabley darker than the rest of the stem this is a characteristic of waterlogged mushies. Notice that one on the lower right of the cake in the first pics(me thinks) that is a sign. Try to reduce the number of sprays and let the chambers RH do most of the work. I have had a number of flushes in the early years that were loaded with "minimushies" just as yours were. And as the good Hipp once told me it was a characteristic of overwatering. But do not be discouraged my fungal friend; pound for pound those little guys pack a punch! ![]() |

![]() | I'm of the mind that it's likely genetics, especially if you already did everything else right... My last cake, getting ready for a 3rd flush, were small mushrooms and it was a Thai strain, KSSS. They looked just like that in size and coloration, but a smaller flush. Dunking, spraying or just plain RH ended in the same size mushroom, although dunking it this round gave me a larger flush than that of the first. But no dispair! What they may lose in size- they do not lose in potency. They're also relatively heavy for the size, as you may have already noticed, and drying weight is almost 20% of that of the fresh, insteady of the typical approximation of 10%, so that's a little extra for having to deal with a ton of tinies.
