![]() | How long can you keep inoculated substrate bag sealed for before it dies? (shiitake)
Just curious if anyone has tested this? I'm sure it is species specific, in my case I'm thinking about shiitake (wood lover). I know it is quite common to wait for full browning, which can take 3 to 4 months before removing the blocks from their sealed myco-bags. I'm just wondering how long you could leave them in there before it would lose vitality or die? I have a lot of fully colonized bags and I kind of want them to last to Christmas but that would be pushing 5 months from inoculation and some of the bags have already begun producing fruit even though they are still sealed.
