Fruiting different strains in the same chamber?

Are there any downsides to this?

SWIM has some MDK and some Guad and they are ready at the same time.

Should SWIM put them in different chambers?

No downsides that I'm aware of, though I'd be interested to hear if there are.

I've seen different strains perform quite well in the same space. Either way sounds like your ready for double the pleasure, sticky! Good luck with your grow.

I wonder if there are any downsides to consuming two different strains at once?

I've fruited two different strains in the same tub before with no bad results.

How about mixing strains of the same species in the same casing? I am curious about this.

Mixing them probably isn't going to work as well is growing them separately. The strains will compete. They may fruit, maybe not. I've grown two strains side-by-side in one tub to compare growth parameters- one side did really well, the other less so.

Thanks for your opinion on the flip side, T!

Now it's a toss-up guys. I need more input!

Oh, you can have them in the same FC- I was talking about spawning all the mycelium mixed together in one tub.

Might wana watch when theyre releasing spores. I believe the spores are able to take over a substrate. might not be a problem if pans stared growing in your cubes but the other way around mite not be so nice. ive seen pictures of random other species showing up in substrates and i believe that was the blame. If your concerned they cant even be in the same chamber those spores go everywhere in the chamber and stick to everything! but many others said otherwise! If your short on space id go for it!

That's ridiculous- spores will not 'take over' a colonized substrate.
Spores may inhibit further fruitbody production. But that's it.

You can spawn 2 strains into each end of a common tray and see what happens in the
border zone ,it's kinda interesting ,especially by the second flush...

yeah SWIM is saving pan prints until SWIM is a bit more comfortable with the current projects.

the current projects are both cube varieties. SWIM believes they'll be ready to fruit in 3 days or less.
