It doesn't take a whole lotta light. The light is just really to tell the mushies which way is up. They aren't photosynthesising plants so they don't "eat" the sunlight like plants do. I give mine a range of daylight, just keep them in the area of a window that has light through most of the day. I have also used a blue not black light on for four hours a day over my monotubs. Some of the best boomers yet.
