| hippie's mycro mix bags
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with hippie3's mycro mix bags. I know that for the most part a cube is a cube, but do any strains do exceptionally well in an invitro grow? The other thing I was wondering was how many cc's of MS should I use per bag? My guess was that 2-3cc's would be good. |

it depends on which bags you are talking about.... it does seem though that you could use any mycelium to spawn a bulk sub [if you know what you are doing] jordan86 - with the mycromix bags you would need to inoculate and incubate (~80f) and wait... then for the best results you would want to introduce light and lower temp (~72f) - so your assumption is basically correct -

![]() | Thanks, but I thought they were talking about the sandbags, which I understand require intro and mixing of spawn, and an oscillating fan. Sorry, not to be redundant, but do you mean that these mycobags can simply be inolculated, exposed to light, kept at right temp until harvesting invitro, then returned to bags for repeated flushes with dunks when necessary?

now the sandbags are different, meant as bulk substrate for your spawn .

![]() | Thanks very much for clarifying, Hippie. May I ask, which one performs better with your neglect tek? You mentioned multiple variables and skill levels in your other response, so am I correct in thinking the jars may be safer for a Newbie?

Yeah if your a noob id recommend hips half pint jars. Ive used His jars in the past and they grew real good colonized fast and fruited nice size fruits. So then got some micro mix bags which was even better, cause just as fast but with way more mix than jars. Now though im using his supercake mix bags, and I must say there damn amazing. The growth took off almost right away and colonized in about 2.5 weeks. I ended up waiting another 2 for pins or something like that but thats off 1cc per bag so i could imagine with more than that how fast they would go. With the bags though going invitro I would imagine most all cube strains would work good being that the fruits would have plenty of room to grow. Not all cramped like in jars. Also I have a batch of his pancakes going right now, and they are kicking ass havent checked in a couple days so there prob done by now. Anyways just trying to say If your gonna buy premixed subs and pretty much everything involved go through Hippie3

The remedy for this uncertainty is to get a batch of basic Jars going, and watch them go through all of the stages first hand. After a few weeks, your confidence level just rockets up with the practical experience you'll have gotten under your belt - you'll be able to identify & call mycelium from 2 yards away, have a feel for what is too wet/too dry - all sorts of good useful things become second nature so very quickly. If you are full of enthusiasm and impatience - go ahead & place that order but my advice from my own experience is don't branch out until you've got your very own 100% colonised jar.Just my 2 cents worth of experience ... just been through this in the past 6 weeks myself.
