hi, i checked the vaults but couldn't really find an answer to my question.

in the fruiting chamber, is it best to use a fan or just let air in 1 - 2 times a day? and if you need to use a fan, do you fan the cakes directly or do you aim the sides of the chamber? thanks

All I do is just take the lid off the tub,
and use that to fan air into the fc.
Do that 4 or 5 times a day if you can
for a minute or 2 each time.
No need for a fan or anything like that.

i think growth was slowing down due to high humidity.. i would take the top off but never ''fan''

I personally have a big fan just blowing at the FC to facilitate FAE through the micro-pore taped holes, plus the positive pressure of the humidifiers keeps lots of fresh air going around.

Most people can just fan it with a piece of cardboard or whatever you have lying around, mines just pretty much automated.

you leave it on all day?
and i just made holes.. i dont have any tape on them, is that ok?

I leave it on all day since the FC stays at 100% RH regardless of it being on or not, so I figure the more FAE the better. Also, this is regarding a tub grow and not cakes mind you, cakes can dry out easier.


As far as the tape goes, it is for filtering the air, some people use polyfil, some use tyvek, I personally use micro-pore tape and love it. Many people do not use tape, but the worry with that is the possibility of a contam getting into your FC and ruining your grow (although fully colonized sub is pretty contam resistant). You'll have to decide for yourself, but I always recommend micro-pore tape over nothing at all.

When I do a fresh air exchange I place a small fan in the correct direction to expel the air from the tub. That is sufficient FAE for me and it takes seconds.
