Hey, if it works.... I put a box fan on it's back on the floor, on top of bricks (at the corners), put a screen on top to keep the mushies from falling through, lay the mush on top, put the fan on low... They dry well overnight, then it's into the damprid container for a final dry. Smaller batches can be put into a mesh bag and taped to a smaller fan that is upright, if that's what you've got, but again, whatever gets 'em dry with what you've got is AOK ![]() soliver |

Yeah if it's got a toggle for heat control than I would turn it to it's lowest setting. There is some right up in the vaults on disabling the heating element.I never have understood why people use damprid.I've been using the same silica gel for 10 months now with no problems.I take mine and fan dry for a day or two then place them in the desiccant chamber for cracker dry shooms from 4 to 6 hours

nah meanman I don't think he's using a dehydrator, but a dehumidifier. I'm with sol, if it works use it! and I also use a fan and damp rid, cracker dry in 2 days tops. Course if it is a dehydrator your dead on!

yep as ive said im using a dehumidifier it says it removes dampness, prevents mildew growing and absorbs moisture.. i also fan them using my room fan placing the shrooms below my computer resting on a paper then onto the cabinet with a dehumidifier.. thanks thanks.. |

I just lay the mushrooms on a couple of plastic "shelves" from inside the food dehydrator, put it in a cardboard box, then put a box fan laying on the box blowing down on high, they are bone dry in a couple days, I dont even have to use the NaOH I have.
