![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | anyone grow GT invitro?
I was wondering how well GT grows invitro. Reading the vaults now and I am contemplating a jar invitro. Just inoc'd today with spores. And I would sure like to have minimal amount of risk due to contamination. I read that certain strains do better than others using this tek so I figured I would ask. Thx |

I have seen them invitro and they do well but the tubs is where its at. just go check out "golden teacher" post and his amazing pics. They are a very hearty one to go with. Invitro is less likely to contam though so give it a try if its your firs try. if you can use big clean pickel jars and do not forget to case. Also dont be discouraged on the first flush cause the second on cakes seem to do better for a foaf monsta Dont know why i am getting bad karma. All i ever done is try to b cool with peeps here |

Thanks for the info. I understand that tubs give more fruit. Contams are worrying me though. Not that I am necessarily having issues with them, but I am. My edibles are all contaminated. Chances are it is from my lack of experience with cloning. I will get it perfected eventually but for now I will be more concerned with keeping it simple. I am feeling a little bit frustrated and would like to remove as many variables as possible to ensure I have a successful project. And invitro may be my golden ticket. References I have found to invito seem to be positive. And the yields seem to be suficent enough for my purposes. As far as the bad karma...... I have no idea. Maybe someone had a bad day. I really couldn't tell you. If it is weighting on your mind why not ask those who gave you bad reputation points. I am sure they would love to tell you why. But as far as I am concerned you did nothing to me, so its all good. D |

If you can get your jars to colonize then you can do invitro. I just happen to have some GTs fruiting invitro right now. I'd get a pic but it's early and I'd have to interrupt Mrs. Sidestreet's beauty rest.I think they're doing fine. If you're to the point where you just want some mush, ANY mush, I say go for it. I like to dunk my cakes once they're 100%, then add fresh sterile verm above and below the cake in the jar for a sort of DEC invitro. And if you're getting a lot of contams, you may have a heavy spore load in your place. Some hard-core cleaning might be in order, keeping an eye out for any growing molds and using bleach and alcohol to kill spores. G'luck! |

Probably a good idea to dunk cakes first. Then roll and sprinkle on top and bottom as well like mentioned above. I would not tub either until you do the big clean to kill off mold spores. Once you get one step down, you try another to yeild more is what this whole thing is about. Of coarse making it easier as you go never hurts. Just keep your area clean as possible. Good luck |

I may be completely off here but how I understood the archived materials was that casing is not used if moving cake to larger jar. And in fact it was discouraged due to the chance of introducing contaminates. Humidity is contained by the glass. As well as to move the cakes to a pickle jar would not truly be invitro fruiting. The pickle jar (larger jar) would be the same as a terrarium. Not that it is bad idea but it is not true to the nature of limiting possible contams. Again, I may have misunderstood the process. As I understood the tek was that the jar is only opened to remove the verm that is used as a physical barrier between the inoculation ports and the cake after pinning occurs. And that the jar was exposed to light through the colinization period to help induce pinning. Am I understanding the material correctly or do I need to hit the books and continue reading? I do like the idea of moving to a lager jar or a bag, for use in the future. But for now I am approaching this grow with Neglect in mind. It seems to be one common piece of advise I keep receiving. So does anyone have any experience with the method I mention ? Or am I totally off? Thanks for all the help. | |

If you are asking to leave them in the same jar then yes that can be done. I am not sure the teks name. They will grow through the myc ok it seems. I thought i seen hippie post up pics a while back on it(i search alot). They should have no prob for personal use. Like said if you have a few extra try different things to see what works best for you. Man that bag setup is amazing. |

5 days later and growth is occuring at inoculation points. I read that it should be exposed to light through the colinization period. Is there any certain amount of light needed? I open my incubator daily. Will this be suficiant amount of light to induce pinning invitro? Thanks again |
