It's known that some people incubate their cased substrate for 2-5 days before Fruiting, and some just place their cased substrate directly into the FC. Im not questioning which is better, but which is faster. Im trying to meet a tough deadline and need to go w/ the fastest route this particular time. Would the direct fruiting method be faster since fruiting conditions are introduced sooner....? Please Help.......... Thanks 4 the INFO! |

unfortunately there is no end all be all for hurrying up fruiting. a lot of it depends on many variables . even then you only may be shaving off a day or two. the key is patience. your best bet is to follow what ever tek you've been using to the letter, and wait, as hard as it may be... in order to give a better answer i think i would need a little more info on the environment/sub/strain you are trying to fruit

BRF Cakes crumbled and cased with 60% Vermiculite & 40% Coir on top. Luckily, all I need to shave off is a couple of days. I was debating on incubating for 1-3 days before fruiting or, fruiting without incubation first. Which will achieve fruit first..? (even if only a day or 2 faster!) Thanks |

ok in my opinion u should think about incubating a lil bit just to help the myc get a hold on the casing but longer then 2 days and it starts to dry my casing up so i do it for 2 days and then give lots of air and light and change the temp on it up ....but it all depends on to many variables like bosshogg said because i have done this and one do really good in 2 days like it col the whole casing layer at about 60 or 70 % which then i put one into fc and one other one started the same day had to sit for another 2 days and dried the casing up but col it alright

As I understand it... Once you case it you're encouraging that micro-enviornment by adding moisture so that the mycellium will permeate the casing... mycellium is part of the growth process vs. fruiting so it would pay to maintain pre-pinning temps until the mycellium has had a chance to run the casing. Had you not already cased it I woud say lower the temps, spray liberally, lots of FAE and light...the casing still requires lots of moisture, but is not ready for fruiting conditions just yet...incubate. It's 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. You can't rush mother nature. |

Incubate for a few days... this will give you the best results! Give the disturbed network a few days to recover... trust me on this one!
