how to hide your work?

Im new to this, i think i understood how to grow the shrooms, but i have little to no privacy at home, sure, i can close my door and stay locked in for hours, but when im out, how do i prevent people from finding my work?

check the vaults there are plenty of stealth teks out there.

i'd start with a closet and some tubs that you can't see through...
you will probly also want a window of time where there it no one around to do what ever kitchen work you need to do..

what are you working with? terrariums, monotubs, TiT incubators?

anything in an opaque tub can be stashed amongst other tubs full of clothes in a closet. that's really the easiest thing to do. you can even cover the tubs with blankets (bonus for added head if you've got a cold house).

drawers are good for storing any supplies you have. syringes, needles, gloves, tyvek, silicone, etc. then again you may want to stash these in another opaque tub and keep with the others.

i suppose you could put colonizing jars in your drawers, if you keep them closed for the duration of the incubation (jars need darkness unless you're going invitro).

yeeeeaaahhh, you dont get it, i can do the hidding of materials and incubating jars just fine, but how the heck will i hide a fruiting chamber?

sry, sometimes i sound rude when im not trying to be, so, if i get a opaque fruiting chamber and fan it there wont be a problem if i stash it deep in a closet hidden by clothes? and whats the minimul size i need for it?

the size of your FC is dictated by the amount of room you have to spare to put it in. most stores that sell tubs and what not have a few different sizes to choose from. sht i've even seen people fruit in a 2 liter bottle or a small plastic cup. the possibilities are endless, get creative.

do you plan to make holes in your FC? are you going to be covering them with tyvek or micropore tape, or stuff with polyfil? if so, you don't want to bury the FC. put it in front of the stack so those holes have room to breathe. if you pack shit in around it, you won't get any air exchange. if you're not going to put any holes and will be relying purely on fanning daily for FAE, i suppose you could bury it as deep as you like.

you can use any size you want. are you fruiting cakes? spawning to bulk substrate? it all depends......

was thinking of spawniong cakes, pftek style, could you recomend a small fruting chamber for me? the easier and most automated as possible.

you're probly going to want to have a manual mono tub style type of system for stealth. with an automated system you'll have to hide cords and timers and what not running outta your closet. unfortunately there is no easy way out with stealth , if it's something you're planning on doing you're going to have to work for it.

click the link that says monotub, and check the vaults. there are way to many ways to do this to list in one thread/post. either way it can be scaled up or down to meet your situation.. as long as you have the basics down and follow what ever tek your using with the utmost care in sterilization you will eventually get something.

Agreed. It's also incredibly simple. You can compensate for slightly lower yields by simply making more jars. It will still take up less space.

Dude,

Grow some edible, non-psychoactive shrooms out in the open. Get the people around you to notice you have an interest in Mycology. Let them see you grow Oysters, Shitake's, etc... Bore them to death with talk about the scientific aspects of macro fungi! They will soon lose any interest in anything you do related to shrooms, and eventually you will be able to grow right under their noses...

Then when they see a Cube Fruiting Chamber they will just dismiss it as, "Another one of loopy so & so's boring myco-nerd projects"

Most people couldn't pick a cube out if it stood up in their fucking breakfast cereal... just bamboozle them with legal, albeit boring mycological information.

Watch them switch off and enjoy the peace and quiet...

Self sufficiency is great. But just not the thing for living at home or even indeed sharing an Apt. with friends.
This is a stealth hobby and one that must be kept secret. Your parents will find your grow for sure. And even when you move out. Keep it Secret.
One of the biggest downfalls for people like us are ex-Girlfriends ( or Bfriends ) and friends that are mad at you for some reason. Especially when younger. It's amazing how friends and exes can turn on you. It is a fine line between Love and Hate.
So be patient and then, when the time is right, be stealthy. A secret shared is no longer a secret.

It would be very disrespectful to your parents if you happen to be a minor who grows illegal compounds in their home without their knowledge. You risk putting THEM in deep shit for your actions. It would be disrespectful to them no matter how old you are, in my opinion...but worse if you're a minor. I recommend you wait out the year and just do your homework/research and grow legal edibles during that time...then go do your illegal business (if that's what you chose to do) some place else away from their home where only YOU will take the fall for your actions.
