Look at all this rizo-fo-shizo!!! This tub is covered in rizo growth. I guess it was a good Idea to use only the jars that had the most rizo grow for spawning to bulk! This tub will be done in a few more days!

Im a very happy husband and very proud of my wife. I have to say that In all my tub grows Ive never seen rizo growth that has covered the entire tub. I think her first tub may grow beter and have a bigger yeild then anyone of mine ever has.

Except for telling my wife what to do I had nothing to do with this tub.

wow that is freaking fantastic!!!!!! i never saw rhizo growth that intense on my pesa tubs, it was mostly in the jars. you friggin rule! i can't wait to see it fruit!!! all those rhizo's poking up are going to bundle together to form shitloads of pins

Casing??? What are is everybodys thoughts here on casing this tub. My wife says she wants to get 6 flushes from this tub. I think a casing layer would help the longgevity of the tub but she is anxious and wants to leave it. I told this tub has been her deal from day 1 and its up to her. So I figured that Id Just ask everybodys thoughts on casing a tub that looks this good???

100% ready to fruit. Going against my hubbys advise and I will not be casing this tub. I want to let you all know that my tubs dimentions 23.5 inches long by 18 inches wide and my sub debth is 5 inches deep. I hope i get tons of shrooooomssss!!!!

Also I still have 12 cakes in the incubator almost 100%. The 8 cakes that are in fruiting are fluffing up nicely! dont know what is going to fruit first the cakes or the tub?

Just look at all that rizo growth. There isnt a spot in the tub that isnt rizo!

Wow that is looking good.I think you did the right thing with just fruiting it like it is.Probably a lot will disagree with me but I think it's a more risk for not much more benefit.I have a feeling we'll be seeing a forest of mushies here shortly

Just got home from work and went to the grow room, the temps were 86deg. When I was checking everything out guess what I found... PINS on the cakes!!! Nothing in the large tub yet but that could be do to the high temps. We moved everything to our downstares growroom for the summer where the temps are cooler then our upstares growroom. I think now that the everything is moved to a cooler part of our house we will see fruits in a few days from the big tub. Mushhut took some pics of the pins so I can show y'all. Mushhut also did a kitty liter tray of pesa at the same time. His spawn was rye to the same sub that I used. My tub colonized a lot faster then his smaller tub. Whos the beter grower here? j/k lol. The last pics are of mushhuts pesa tub.

Thanks Irish, but I cant take all the credit. Every thing Ive learned about growing mushies was taught by the teachers here. I always love to toot my own horn but I have to give the credit to topia. Im just passing the knowledge along. Im also hoping that tub fruits like crazy but Im fearing that her first grow is going to beter then my best grow. Either way Im very happy for her.

Pins are getting bigger. On one of the cakes theres almost 50 pins. Still nothing on the big tub and Im wondering if its going to even give out fruits. My hubby says the tub will fruit it just take some time. Heres some pics of the cakes today.

Not sure what the general consensus is, but when there is high rhizomorphic growth present, it does seem to take a little longer to pin.

Thanks for all the compliments. Update, still nothing on the bulk tub but I have fruits on all 8 cakes. The 12 cakes that are still in the incubator are 99.9% done. Take a look at the last pics thats mycelium climbing up the walls of the tub.

it's only been 5 days since you initiated fruiting on your tubs, correct? it may take 7-9 days to show pins. so nothing to worry about yet. once the pins start coming in, it all happens very quickly - probably not more than 6 days for mature fruits!

My wife picked one of the cakes clean today and will prob be picking the others in the next 1 to 2 days. Still nothing on the big tub but it will come around. Heres some pics.

Can I get a pin dance woot woot. I got pins on my big tub no pics yet. I have printed a ton of caps from the cakes with mushhuts help. Heres some more pics of the cakes. I also birthed 10 more cakes. The 10 cakes are dunking now and will be fruiting tomarrow. The last pic is of the tubs that are fruiting.

Got most of the cakes in a new tub. There is 18cakes total. Still 2 jars left incubating in the tit. The last 2 pics is of a nepal jar invetro fruiting.

These pins in this tub are taking there sweet ass time. Heres a pic of a cake that was picked last night. Take a look at the pic of the side of the tub there is shrooms growing off the tub and not off the sub itself.

as for the tub, i spoke with mushhut this evening and i think you may be fanning the tub a bit too much, and the moisture & CO2 loss from the fanning might be slowing down the pins. decrease fanning to 1-2x per day at this stage until your fruits really get going, then you can increase to 3x per day if you like. the fanning shouldn't be too vigorous, either; just opening the tub to "take a peek" is sufficient to bring in some fresh air. but other than that, your fruiting conditions are good, so it's just a matter of being patient. i predict subsequent flushes with cold water dunks will improve the speed and performance...

Thanks guys. I slowed down fanning and they are now starting to grow a lil faster. More new pins still poping up. Also got some pins on the cakes. I think there are on 3 to 4 cakes showing pins. All 18 cakes are fuzzing up nicely!!! This is going to be a nice yeild from tub and the cakes. Thanks y'all.

Heres an update. The cakes that already flushed once are for round 2. The tub is just creeping along slowly. I dont know what the prob is. Its been 6 to 7 days since pins.

to be honest most of the pins on the tub look like they've aborted now. the fact that the pins have not progressed in many days indicates they're aborts. plus they have dark colored and very pointy caps, characteristic of aborts. i'd say pick everything and dunk the tub and hope for a better second flush... IME 2nd flushes are better than first anyway

for reference, here is a pic of a pile of PESA aborts. you can see the majority of the pins on your tub have the same appearance (caps are small, dark, & pointy). i'd say pick em and start a new flush. don't throw away the aborts though.. i hear they are super potent

you are amazing MD. first why would the tub abort like that. was it the fresh air, is it the strain? just wondering what you and the others think would cause the whole tub to abort?

second, HOW DO you get your fruits so clean after harvesting. i couldn't see a speck of casing on the picture of aborts, above?

pvacant, my best guess is too much fanning in the initial pinning stages caused the aborts, but it's really hard to say, i'm not sure. i do know that when my pinsets are coming in, i really keep fanning to a minimum to maintain high co2 levels - and i don't normally see any aborts til later in the flush. i don't think it's related to the strain, as i've worked with it quite a bit and have not seen an entire flush abort before.

the way i get my fruits so clean is to hold them at the base and twist off, instead of just yanking. this makes a cleaner break. also, if any substrate is stuck, i pick it off while they are still fresh (don't wait for drying, it's much harder to get off).

Me and mush picked all the aborts from teh tub. We didnt get a pic of the tub before picking, but there were a tone of aborts. This tub was super easy to pice the shrooms came off with out taking chunks of the sub with it. They just pulled right off. the tub is dunking now in cold water. We will see how the secound flush goes. This flush will be cased. Here are some pics of the 2nd flush of 4 of the cakes. I got a nice yeild for 4 cakes . 4 other cakes are on teh 2nd flush and showing nothing yet. The other cakes in the tub are now flushing for the first time.

Heres the cakes that I birthed a week or so ago. I got pins coming on the 1st flush. Looks like there is going to me more then that 8 others that were birthed earlier. . Nothing on the big tub after the 14hr dunk. On one cake there are 2 huge shrooms comeing off it. There is also 2 cakes sharing one shroom. Once it gets bigger Ill get some pics. The other cakes there are tons of shrooms coming out everywhere.
