Then one became two (bulk to bulk)

Bulk to bulk spawning, simple concept, but I haven't really seen it done so I decided to give it a whirl and post a log. Enjoy!

Materials:
Fully colonized bulk substrate tub
Equal quantities uncolonized substrate
2 monotubs (56 qt used here)

Procedure:
1: Dump 1/2 uncolonized substrate into empty tub
2: remove 1/2 of the colonized substrate and place into uncolonized substrate
3: Place remaining uncolonized substrate into the second tub with colonized substrate
4: mix very well making sure to break up large pieces
5: place in dark warm environment

Here are some pics, I will try and be good and post as things develop either way.

im thinking as long as your 1st generation spawn. you should be able to do what like 2 tub to tub transfers.

so soon enough you will hear the new fad on the omc. t2t instead of g2g. i think you started a fad. lol.

Yea "super spawning" works as long as the myc is young and vigorous. Stamets chart in TMC shows one master noccing ten more jars then each one of those noccing up ten more. All that coming from a clean wedge from agar. That's alot of spawn .

yeah super spawning. always heard of it. never seen people trying it on the forums of the omc. or maybe i missed the threads. sure it will work. just good to see it in action.

Yes this should really be interesting.On a side note I just spawned my first qt's of wbs to coir ever an my first bulk in many years.This has me thinkin also......If I only knew how to upload and post picks I could share stuff.It seems like my stuff needs to be resized though.Not very savey when it comes to comp stuff.

Well If you want a custom pic for your avatar it needs to be down sized usually. Pics for your posts usually dont need to be resized . It takes a while for mine to upload due to my dialup connection. I'm still learning too.

Substrate mix is 10 pounds bagged composed cow manure 2 bricks coco coir all hydrated to a tad beyond field capacity and oven pasteurized at 190 degrees F for 2 hours. That is per tub so total is 4 bricks coir 20 lbs cow manure, cow manure weight is approximate I just eyeball it, putting as much as I can in while keeping the mix light and fluffy.

Just a 3 day update, the mycelium is starting to fluff back up. Take some more pics as things develop.

im actually trying something similar to this with my woodlovers. taking a piece of my main substrate to grow another bulk substrate after this one is long gone and done instead of starting all over and noccing new jars

Just wondering if anyone tried this out yet, my tubs failed to fully colonize after I split it. I think the substate was too wet, I would like to try again because I really think this concept has potential. I still got fruits off both tubs but not as much as I should have....
