Hi KW, I have three BRF cakes going right now with Z-strain. There's been some speculation that Z-strain is really Golden Teacher but others disagree. Good luck on your grow and I'll report anything interesting that happens with my cakes. Peace, Dee |

Ive got a grow log of the z strain in the photo gallery right now and I assure you they are nothing like the golden teachers. Go check it out in photo gallery. Cracking caps is a sure sign of z strain. If ppl are saying that z strain and golden teachers are one of the same they mislabled somthing.

I'm a refugee from that other shroom place. They're really mean over there! So any misinformation I may have, I'll blame it on them. Cracked caps...I'll watch out for that. Peace, Dee

How much of that print did you use to make each syringe KW? Also I see you have foil on the top of you jars, meaning that you didnt take my advice on making your jar lids . It may be a lil extra work to make the lids but it seals the deal. I hope none of your jars contam. Good luck buddy. |

Its nice to see sombody already having sucuess from my prints. That was fast but thats what you get with fresh prints. Did you suck up the rest of the spore solutuon that you had in that mason jar? If you didnt and it sits in that jar much longer it may not be good and if you do make syringes with it you need to lable them as test syringes only untill you can verfi growth.

Hey Killa, Nice to see you have some growth. People may jump all over me...but I personally don't worry about a little light on the mycelium during colonization. I peek every few days. Blame it on being a noob. Peace, Dee

Ive givin lots of these prints away so far I only know 2 members that have used them. The other member I gave them to said that his jars are growing super fast too. After seeing your grow and hearing from the other member about the super fast grow, makes me want to use one of the few prints I have left. I cant wait to see these fruit.

Oh boy my jars are really white I am stoked like you wouldnt believe. I do have a question tho now that my jars are all white should i wait one more week before i try to fruit them? This is all still new ground for me. i feel like a kid stressing over when santa is gonna come. I am thinking about double casing them when I do. I am posting some pix of how they look right now |

Those jars are looking great killaweed. I also recieved a Z strain print from Mushhut, i knocked up 12 1/2p BRF cakes. And just like you, within a little more then a week, some of my jars are completely done colonizing, but most need some more time to finish up. I hope both of us have as much success as Mushhut did when he did his pan. Keep your eye out for my Z strain growlog, i might post the start of it in a few days, i'll be watching this thread, since we both are using prints from the same batch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have a question....should i wait til i see pins before i put them to fruit? and what should i put them in? i have one jar sitting on wet perlite and vermiculite on top and bottom of cake....which way will i get better yield? coir? straw? birdseed? i do have horse poo, i have vermiculite and perlite...no straw no coir yet and i know where to get wild birdseed....so which substrate should i use for the other 4 jars i have left? and how long should i wait before doing it?

I would say that your best bet is to try as many options as you can and just make sure that you're keeping track of what you're changing with each. I can't really tell you what's best as I'm at about the same spot as you on my first grow. I just birthed 3 cakes: DEC one with coir, one with verm/coir, and one chopped in half and DEC both with the same mixtures. Worse case scenario, I dont get any fruits, but I have plenty of LC made up to continue my efforts. So ya dude, just check the vaults and see what you come up with.. and best of luck with your projects!! |

Wow Copernicus45 and killaweed you guyes are doing great with them prints. Im glad they went to good use. In all of my brf grows I have never had growth that fast. Great work for the both of you. Oh yea, Btw all the z strain prints I gave out here were all from my tubs 1st flush. Hey killaweed, for your first grow Id just do brf cakes with the dec. Stick with what you know for now. Do some more reading and study study study before jumping into somthing new. Haste makes waste. Come by sometime soon and Ill show you how to pasturize some bulk. |

do you notice any growth on the cake itself?=, Like is the mycelium getting any fluffier or colonizing the verm? how much are you fanning it? are there any holes with polyfil/micropore tape in the tub, for air exchange? Do the cakes have any type of sour smell, or yellow areas?

Killaweed! Good thread and I wish I'd gotten to it sooner. You might want to lower the temperature in your fc. Lower seventies works great. Also, above you asked about waiting for pins to birth. I personally don't have an opinion on this but I remember H3 and others used to say that it's a good idea to wait. I think you'll be seeing your first mushrooms soon. It's a special time, ain't it? ![]() edit: Also, if that tub is as little as it is short, you should fan a little more often because CO2 will build up faster in there. How much are you fanning now? |
