![]() | Pressure cooking later
I have some free time tonight and I was wondering if I could make my brf/vermiculite/water mix, put them in the jar with the dry verm layer, close them but only pressure cook them like 3 days from now? Or the will just dry and I will have to start over?

interesting question. I am a newbie, But I have read in the past that sterilization keeps the medium inside sterilized for up to three weeks. I am guessing that depends on how well your jars are sealed off from contaminates entering. There are also places that sell pre-steralized jars. they seem to ship them in plastic of some sorts, so I guess the question of sterilization for later use is that it is possible. I am not sure if they are vacuum sealed in the plastic of not. The above comment is just my assumptions, because I have also been wondering if the jars you want to make can not be all steralised at once, can they be steralised in batches, accounting for cooling time also.. sorry I couldnt answer your question by experience. |

Don't do it! You may be able to get away with it but if it's not 100% necessary dont even think about it!
