Hello Fellow Mycofreaks. A while ago I remember some talk about using store bought Vitamin water to make liquid cultures. I'm pretty sure it was the 'Vitamin Water' brand, but I didnt catch (or don't remember in my old age) exactly what type of Vitamin Water is best to use. I seem to remember the Peach flavor not doing so well and Hippie ended up drinking it or something. ![]() Also, I was wondering if anyone had ever tried using 'Pedialight' for liquid cultures. Pedialight is a baby formula that contains the following.... Main ingredients: Dextrose 25 g; Water; Citric Acid; Potassium Citrate; Sodium Chloride; Sodium Citrate. I know that Dextrose is ok, and the water of course, but I'm wondering about the other ingredients. It may be another experiment I'll have to try if I can't find that Vitamin water. |

for the porpel LC im not sure how ecaxtaly you would do it but im sure a 16ga needle will puncture the cap and you could tape over it. seeing as it is sterile until you open it you probaly dont have to PC it before you noc it up

Even easier way. Go to a coffee shop and grab a handful of "sugar in the raw" packets, add 1 packet (5 g's) to 250 ml of water and pc. It's the only LC I have used so far, I have 7 going right now. It hasnt failed me yet, plus it is almost perfectly clear, easy to see the myc. |

actually I did my first 2 sugar in the raw lc's before I had a pc, just boiled em for half an hour...But I may have gotten lucky on those ones. Good luck with the pedialite etc... let us know how it works out. I have read that regular sugar (the white kind) goes through a bleaching process that removes some of the nutrients and it doesn't work as well. Dont know what is in those vitamin water things though. |

Propel Works- This is just one of several links I found through the search feature showing someone's luck with it: http://forums.mycotopia.net/fungi-gr...-brf-pins.html (LC BRF Pins) I haven't used it myself- yet- but its going to be the media of choice for my next LC. Good luck!
