Question about cloning w/ PF jar

My question is:
Could one inject sterile water into fully colonized PF jar (not into the cake, but around it), shake it around for a second, and then retrieve it via syringe;
and then use that water to innoculate more jars?
If so could that water be diluted with sterile water to say a 1:1 ratio to stretch it out?

Pretty much. One would have to get a pretty thick syringe as not to clog it up. But I don't see why it wouldn't work.... folks have been known to put cakes in blenders and make a 'slurry'. I don't think it would be the easiest way to achieve a liquid culture, and would most definitely be prone to more contamns than other tried and true methods found within the vaults, but ya gotta work with what ya got sometimes.

with brf. it becomes gooey easily. id say, if you want to try this. use a jar with some grain or popcorn grain. the kernals hold up a bit more and last longer.

I would get a bigger gauge needle if I were to try this. Sounds like it would be a pain in the ass to suck it up onto a standard "spore syringe" needle.

Something like this should do the job. The needle base twists off and clear tubing fits snuggly over the nipple.

Ya thats a good idea, I made one of those out of one of those spray syringes you get when you get your wisdom teeth out to squirt water in the wound to make sure food doesn't get stuck in there.

It works great for all kinda of stuff.
