![]() | anyone dunk cakes in hpoo water?
I've read about someone doing it before, but only that one person. Anyone else do it? I assume i would just heat to pasteurization levels for about an hour to kill off bad bacteria and then use that water, maybe 50/50, with spring water? Or something else all together?

I have good luck cold dunking with worm casting tea I make. 1 cup castings per gallon of h20, steeped (not boiled) for 90 minutes.

IMO dont do that heres y...the mycelium effectively completely surrounds the substrate when it colonizes it. so if a contam lands on the substrate it basically lands on the mycelium, it cannot penetrate it. if u had exposed substrate and a contam landed on it it could colonize the substate. if u dunk with poo water u are effectively coating the mycelium in a nutrient rich layer that can be attacked by contams so to say bc the contams land on food basically and are able to grow instead of landing on mycelium which is strong stuff against contams. ive heard it said that it can help with later flushes but the downside is increased risk of contams. but in my opinion the substrate does not need nutrients it only needs water. u know this bc they flush numerous times with only added water. so during the flushes the mushrooms only exhaust the water not the nutrients. it has plenty of nutrients left proven by the later flushes. i would take a lesser chance of contams over slightly better later flushes anyway. if that sub contams bc of it it can effect all later grows and all other substrates if those contams are set loose in the grow space. so u get an extra quarter off a flush maybe but if you fuck up some other grow bc that grow contamed and u had errant contam spores spread in the room it could cost u a lot more. just my opinion and im stickin with it!

ya i mean for a third flush dunk id say give it a shot if its all u got to work with. it can work and will probably help that flush especially on a cake but just know the basis of y theres and increased chance for contams. i avoid contam chances at all costs even if it means lesser flushes ya know.
