Your S.A. liquid culture recipe?

Just wondering what those of you out there who have been successful with S.A. liquid culture are doing. I've done almost 20 different combinations involving potato water, karo, malt yeast extract, nutritional yeast, and dextrose. Just to be clear, I don't put all those things into each LC, but try different combos involving 2 or more ingredients. I have been utterly unsuccessful in getting S.A. spores to germinate in any of them and only one of them (1/3 potato water, 2/3 distilled water, 1/4tsp malt yeast extract, 2 tsp karo) grew clone tissue. I could not even reproduce this success a second time with the same solution

I tried all the solutions side by side with GT which germinated/grew clone, in basically all of them. I'm still scratching my head. I thought my technique was off but the second time around I also did a side by side with Orrisa and had near 100% success while having 0% success with S.A. What the HAY!!!

So those of you successful with S.A. LC, what is your secret?

I like a combination of potato water and karo syrup.

All those things you mentioned sound pretty good. Maybe the problem is somewhere else?

This is a great LC tek, it works well and very fast.

all I use is 95 ml water and 5 ml karo. easy.

I use 1 teaspoon of honey in 500 ML of water. Works everytime. Oh and get a magnetic stir plate. It kicks ass.
