Looking good Paul! If things are indeed dry, Soliver would know better than I, perhaps start light misting once a day. You will get more fruits as I have discovered only just recently. I hope you get some good flushes and keep yourself well stocked all summer long and beyond. Don't forget to share w/ your friends! It seems the more you share them out, the more they grow for you. They know.

hmmmmmm. yes i agree it looks a tad bit dry. you can try misting during this flush to get more boomers, but i'd personally let this flush just do its thing and then give a 10 hr cold water dunk prior to the 2nd flush. that should bulk things up ![]() and, oh yeah, congrats on your success!!!!!

Listen to MD. She's grown more boomers than we've ever seen/eaten combined. And what She says is exactly how things have worked out in my trays. A starting flush can be helped by misting, but after a flush is done a dunk will bring you a huge flush. At least it did for me!

as for the casing question, i've never personally felt the need for one (especially when using the dunk method), so i can't say i'm an expert on that. however, people have indeed had success with adding a casing layer after the initial flush or two. verm is a great casing material, as it is non-nutritive and holds lots of moisture. field capacity sounds perfect. you may want to pasteurize or sterilize it first, though - i hear the microwave is a common tool for preparing verm casings, although i couldn't tell you for how long or at what power this should be done. hopefully more people will chime in about that!

i have used verm & lime as a 2nd flush casing (and use the microwave quite often). i however only rarley get post 1st flushes worth mentioning. they are ok, and larger; but definetly not very many fruits. however i believe it is more my problem than the application of a casing layer, as i get carless with'em after the initial flush. so good luck. can't wait to see the results.. | |
