Have some Quickdry...how do i use it to dry?

I have a bag of the white Quickdry stuff and a few stalks of picked mushrooms. How do i implement the Quickdry to allow it to do its duty?

Is quickdry like damprid?

If so, what I do is put the mushies in a paper bag for a day or so to dry them out a little.

Then take a box of some sort, put the damprid on the bottom, cover it with some screen or something to put the mushies on (you don't want them directly on the stuff) and put your mush in the box.

They should be "cracker" dry in a day or so.

The reason I predry them before putting them in the box is to keep the damprid from becoming what I refer to as "brittle". It gets all clumped together and resemble peanut brittle.

Yea, always fan dry before putting fruit into a desiccant chamber. Laying out across a screen from a window with a small fan blowing on them for 24 hours will most of the time get them lightly crispy and another day or two in a desiccant chamber will make them cracker dry Desiccant chambers should be as small as possible (to reduce airspace that holds moisture) and fruits should never come in contact with the desiccant.

I dump it in a say 1-2 inch layer at the bottom of a tall tuperware cookie jar type container, toss a layer or 2 of paper towels on and then I put my near dry goods in and put the lid on for a day or two.

Yes, do seal the dessicating chamber. You don't want to waste your dessicant on the surrounding air. From you last post, you have the idea and are well on your way.
