didn't mean to be rude. Just thought it kinda funny, guess my sense of humor sucks. Sorry if it sounded rude or ignorant. Guess I would not want to have someone say that to me. Forgive me ajhenry2. Sorry you had to go to the trouble of deleting the post eatyualive.
If it still helps I like to line the bottom of the tub with aluminum foil with pinholes in it. I also put holes in the tub and put the tub over another tub with moist perlite in it. Just for the first flush, though. This tends to help provide a very strong first flush.

don't overfan

make sure you have a way to get rid of excess water from pooled condensation

keep substrate hydrated for every flush via dunking to maximize flush performance

what constitutes as overfanning? foaf is on his 1st grow still (coming up on flush 4 hopefully) and working on grow 2. He fans anywhere from 5-10 times a day in a mono with only 2 small holes drilled for ventilation. (he's lazy and didn't finish the other holes before putting into the FC).
