![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | green house. advice please. Hi all im looking into green houses today and I cant seem to quite get the info im looking for. Im planning on getting two three tier green house’s and hooking them up to a cool mist, much like in hipps green house guide in the vaults. But ive only come across people using ultra sonics so far What would be the pros and cons to using a cool mist over a ultrasonic with this set up, And for the sake of an extra £15 for a digital timer; do you think it would be worth getting an ultra sonic.

From my own experience, I have a coolmist running inside of my greenhouse and have had much success using this method. Humidity is high, fae is through the roof. It's been good to me.

thanks awstrook. can you elaborate on your set up just so i can picture what has worked for you. im hoping to use a cool mist hooked up to some pipe that will humidify two green houses. is this simlar to what you got going. Edit: allso have you a hole cut into the sides or any thing for FAE.

limited funds dude. plus by the sounds of it one humidifier could do three green houses. but im more asking about the specific virtues of the individual units so i can make a informed decision. by the sounds of it an ultra sonic produces more humidity than a cool mister. I may just have to get both and do some experiments with my hygrometer though that would nearly cripple me.

Well the setup is a 4 tier greenhouse. I have removed the bottom 2 tiers and put in a heater and a coolmist. I keep the bottom of the door flap open so that fresh air is drawn in for air exchange. Some people will say keep the humidifier off of the floor, but the amount of free air really limits the contams that will grow here. The coolmist is not in the pic, but the heater is. Hope this gives you a rough idea

I have seen a vicks 400 coolmist run 2 4 tier greenhouses piped in with no timers running 24/7. I myself use an ultrasonic pond fogger (not a humidifier) In a 5gal bucket with an 80mm pc fan and some 4" vinyl dryer hose for 1 greenhouse. But in all honesty my setup could probably run 3-4 greenhouses. It is only on for 15 mins every 2.5 hours to stay above 95%RH. Both or either should do you well from what I have seen, its all about how you tweak your setup. |

Eh, my response might be too late to help, but my greenhouse is some cheap $25 plastic shelves with holes drilled in them, wrapped in plastic sheeting, held on with gorilla tape. I have a main front access secured with velcro. A coolmist humidifier is connected to a top bracket of pvc via a dryer hose w/ holes drilled in the pvc. If you want the best humidity for your budget, flip the shelves over and fill them with perlite. I only did that on one shelf for a test, and I'm thinking about disassembling the whole thing and doing that with all shelves. I can post pictures, but its no work of art. The aesthetics are more a testament to gorilla tape than anything else.
