simple syringe question

Its been a while since FOAF had to sterilize a syringe and his new pc isnt big enough to do it the old way filled with water when in the pc..... could he rinse it out with alcohol and clean spring water a few times then pc it wrapped in foil empty? or does it have to have water in it when it's pc'ed?

Works Fine that way! They store better and longer because its dry inside the foil instead of having a half full syringe leaking water inside your foil

It's not necessary to clean with alcohol into the syringe. In fact it's probably better to avoid such spore lethal substances inside the syringe even if cleansing it afterwards IMO. I usually boil some water, then suck up/eject this water a couple of times, then PC.

you can pc the syringe while its pushed shut and have a jar of water with a filter on it in the pc just draw from the sterile water

wrap empty syringes with tinfoil and boil them 45 minutes.
fill after with sterile water by airport .

So if I just suck up boiling water,let it cool,make my syringes,that wont do?

personally, I perfer to suck some bleach into my syringes and then leave that for like 2 mintues then shoot that out, then suck up 91% iso leave it for a couple minutes, and repeat that 3 times and shoot that back into the bottle when finished then rinse the syringe with boiling water 3 to 4 times and upon the last time you draw up the boiling water, you leave it in the syringe to cool and you are gaurenteed a clean syringe. I know its over kill but, hey thats just me

What swim has always done is just take apart and boil the syringes, while the water is still boiling used a pair of clean tongs and put it together and pull up water through it a few times and then the last time keep the water in...it has worked 100% of the time for me..but the bleach would make it better!

Rather than re-use syringes just get new ones. I used to re-use mine but at some point they just become a vector for contamination. It can be done but for the cost of a $.75 syringe why risk it.
