Is distilled water sterile?

Have an idea. If distilled water is sterile and you put two blobs of silicone on a gallon of distilled water (in your glovebox after your wipe everything with alchohol) and then use this water to fill up your syringes, bypassing any need to sterilize your needles. Then you just wipe your needle and the blob with alchohol each time before filling. I know sterilizing needles is easy but this could work well in a pinch or when your just being lazy!

One port would be on top (for your airport syringe) and the other on the very bottom on the side to get every last drop of water out of the jug. This could last you forever ...

not a new idea exactly.
DW is not guaranteed sterile
so might hit it with
high intensity shortwave UV sterilizer
just to be sure.
however
most does seem sterile right out of the jug...

i have done this a several times, not always but the times i did i didn't have any problems (ozarka brand). even shot up dejvu water with honey and made an LC right in the bottle. worked like a charm.

i think he was talking about shooting some honey into one of those gallons of DW like pvacant said he did with success.

and thats a pretty awesome idea it would have been a good addition to that store baught LC thread

but something else i would like to add is that its hard as hell to get needles through bottles at least in all my attempts i ended up shooting through the foil top on the propel i was noc'n up just a thought so maybe look for flimsy or thin jugs

yeah you can inject honey though, which is sterile, aint it?
if not one would have to draw-up honey into a plunger out of a swabbed honey packet and inject into the h2o.
you can get individual serving packets of honey from any fast food joint like mcdonalds.

awesome idea i wonder how much honey is in those packs you could just drop the whole pack in a dish of alcohol and be ready to go

Yea i was talking about putting some karo or honey in a jug of DW. Hell yea a gallon of LC would last nearly forever!! would be good for an out door grow. You could just start slinging it everywhere you needed haha

lc can only be used in sterile conditions.

hip i was just gonna say the same thing but i got to thinkin what if the reason it dont work even with giant masses of sloppy lc myc is cuz its not been tried cased? perhaps inoculating a highly nutritious bulk sub with heavy amounts of lc grown myc colonies, im talkin like 1 gallon worth of ultra-heavily colonized lc per sq ft and inch depth of sub? and then cover lightly with somethin like 50 50 verm and bulk sub then case the whole thing with verm and water-in, keeping the rh underneath 100% at all time? because inside a jar the only 2 differences really are that its sterile and 100%rh constantly, and i dont see any reason why the myc requires sterility and all the reason in the world a liquid-propagated culture wont take in open air! ya know what i mean? kinda like how you cant take a hydroponically propagated mj plant and transplant it directly into dirt outside--its not because the dirt aint sterile, its because the dirt dehydrates the roots; same could hold true for mycelium raised in liquid from birth, cant adapt to the open-air conditions prolly would dry out instantly nevermind if a watering was skipped haha

ok what i did was inject sterilized honey........(i Think, and it seemed so)..... by drawing up the honey and boiling it (in the syringe) in a pot of water. then injecting a 4% amount, reletive to the 20 oz bottle of dejablue, don't remember the amount; but easy math, anyway, i then put 1cc of B+ spores into it.
Dejablue I chose because of the pull top lid. I wraped that in tyvec (2 layers) so i could leave it open to breath, but close to shake. thus not getting the tyvek wet. and in no time it grew. However, after moving to a stir plate and Hip's airport, that seems to be the way.

I hope your friend does, cause trying is where the doing comes from. not much to loose, xcept failure, but you could or just might stumble onto something that WILL make your head spin. LOL
