![]() | Fruiting invitro after first flush?
Thanks to the help of mycotopia I have a fruiting chamber with 5 cakes in it that are currently growing some mushrooms, I feel they're getting close to the end of thise fruit and I have already harvested a couple that have opened and dropped spores. This is a bit of a complicated one. I'm moving out of my house tommorrow in to a place where I definitely cannot have my fruiting chamber sat at the end of my bed as it is now, so I was pondering whether I could harvest, pop my cakes back in to their jars (perhaps with a little bit of water?) and stick them in my cupboard. Any thoughts? Or other ideas? I really don't want to waste them, I had anticipated they would start fruiting much earlier otherwise would have waited! Thanks for any help and all your help so far guys! Realllly helpful |

Um Im not to sure about this.. There wont be any air exchange when you put them back in jars, the whole thing about invirto is that the cakes are sterile because they havent been exposed to the outside air.. puting them back in will most likely cause contams.. You can try if ya like.. ya never know

Can you not move your fruiting chamber to a closet or somewhere not in the open when you move? You could buy a large rubbermaid tub ($10 at walmart) and put your chamber in that to move it and it still be indiscrete. Open it, fan it, turn the lights on the room for a few minutes each day and they should keep fruiting. Closets are my favorite place to hide my hobby. Also, having your fruiting chamber at the end of your bed sounds like a less than ideal location. Dust, dander, and all kinds of shit will be all around your bed. You don't want a shit load of contaminated air around your chamber. You might be better off moving it anyways. Just a thought. Good luck, ![]() GT
