cloning aborts

Has anybody in here cloned aborts? I have some that are about an inch tall and the cluster is amazing. I was thinking since it's a great cluster to clone it. I guess just wondering what other peeps think about this.

i wouldn't... aborts have stopped growing for one reason or another... you want to clone the ones that grow big and strong!!

if theyre rather large aborts i dont think it would hurt too much

then again you could end up with no fruits or just pins that never develop when you grow it out.

ive clone some aborts before, never grew em due to having better genetics in other clones from later flushes. they were like "just in case" material.

i personaly would wait it out and find a better specimen/cluster later on, but if you just want to see what happens i say it's all good too.

You probably won't get good results,but it would be fun to see what happens.

I just cloned about 10 of these bad boys. I will let you guys know how it works out. It is going to be a month or two before fruits. I just put them on agar today. I will keep all informed.

good luck. i had good success with a cloned abort. I had to throw out my entire project awhile ago due to neglect and mean greens. had no spores left so i made a clone of the biggest abort to an LC as a final hope. Grew it out to grain and got rolling again.

Saved me from buying spores and turned out to be a good isolate.

my opinion is
if an abort is your only option
then do that.
but i believe a fully developing shroom
would likely be a better sub strain.
cloning an abort is akin to
breeding the runt,
instead of the pick of the litter.

Hmm, once my friend gets a few fruits hes gonna have to try a clone. I like the pinsets people seem to get from a good clone. Is it best to clone from a fatboy or from a cluster or both?

From what I understand, you want to clone tissue that is growing... and aborts, by definition, have stopped growing. I'd be interested though in seeing if it works.... it's be cool to see a whole forest of runts

Some of the most powerful trips I've had were on aborts... damn things really pack a
punch per gram, and I don't think this is just my experience talking here... I think it
would be sweet to have an entire casing's worth of aborts dried up in a jar for a rainy
day, or extracted and set aside.

Cool idea!

Yea, i think i just got lucky when i cloned my abort cuz it grew out huge and those suckers were potent. the caps were really small but they made up for it in density and length. I used that clone LC for almost a year before it began stalling out and i had to start back with spores.

Like hip said, if you can clone a full sized fruit then go with that. Aborts happen for many reasons, environmental conditions and/or bad genetics, so its hit or miss as far as cloning one. I say try it out if you've got no alternatives.

hell yeah, i put all of my aborts in an "everclear extraction" and holy s**t, they do do the job! 1 gram's worth is like 3!!!
