I'm not aware of any "new" cultivation books and would love to know that myself. I have Growing Wild Mushrooms by Bob Harris and Psilocybin, MMGG by Oss and Oeric as well as Stamets The Mushroom Cultivator. Those are old classics, along with the original PF TEK, but the information available here in the archives is like having an encyclopedia of growing information. So much of what makes it into books is so far behind the cutting edge experiments and fine tuning of old techniques that take place here, I really don't see the need for a book.

I looked through the "Psilocybin Mushroom Handbook: Easy Indoor and Outdoor Cultivation" by Nicholas and Ogame. I liked the book very much - didn't read every word, but just skimmed through it. But it's very basic. If you didn't know a thing about growing mushrooms and was about to start it would be a great read. But read a few articles from the vaults here first, and most of what you'd find in the book would be redundant.

You guys are both right this site is amazing, hours have already been lost in the vaults. But there's something about a book, I like the simplicity to it. Mycotopia is always my first stop for info for sure. Just curious on any recent ones out right now. I have seen these two Growing Wild Mushrooms by Bob Harris and Psilocybin, MMGG by Oss and Oeric. I'll have to check out the others. Anybody know of any more recent ones? |

This site is the best source of myco knowledge existing today. If you need a book, GGMM from Stamets is good. Same for The Mushroom Cultivator (tho a bit outdated)

stamets books are great for the down and dirty mechanics of cultivation. although, bob harris is one of my earliest influences. great guy to talk to and his books tend to bring more of the natural side to the table with duplication of environment and proper composting.
