![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | buteo needs help Pans 1st run
Ok guys i know i dont do this much but buteo has got some questions on pan cyan viets. As alot of you know, i have a tray going with my first pan viets. i have them in an animal tank with the vents sealed off to control humidity inside their tray. Ok after they fully colonized i cased em off with 50/50 verm/cactus soil mix and now have them exposed to light. Now the pan mycelium is starting to pop up through the casing layer. now my question is: Should i case them again to cover the myc up? should i let them go? Im unsure since this is my first run with pans. Will they still pin if they have come above the casing layer? I was thinking of casing them off again with straight verm . would this be a good idea? thanks agan guys i owe you big...whether you just read or give me a response thank you..... your ol pal, buteo

Dr. Hallucination was faster. ;-) I just wanted to quote Spacecake who said the same as Dr. Hallucination just a few days ago in response to Raziel - read from here http://forums.mycotopia.net/fungi-gr...tml#post733513 (Ratio question) btw, I only have one pan grow of experience, but as a curious point that might support the expert opinion... I tried to case on top of some trays that were a bit overlayed, and those trays really didn't do well. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have put more casing, but then again, that was more than just a light patching I gave them. Hope you get a lot of shrooms!

no need to patch it bro, will be fine, just give it a lil more fae like maybe 3 times a day to prevent overlay and lower the humidity some.

Thanks firerat! Yea they seem fairly easy so far ...but i think the cube-pan seperation is going to come now with the fruiting process. Ive got a tub now with b+ growin like crazy and full of huge mushroom "trees". I just hope i get some type of decent success with these pans

Yeah, that is some seriously heavy overlay for pans. Though the photos are not so clear, the overlay looks as heavy as what Raziel posted recently (Pan, cambodgiensis): http://forums.mycotopia.net/fungi-gr...an-growth.html (Is this normal pan growth ?) Well, let's wait for the experts to get here... I would personally let it grow so long as there is no definite signs of anything bad going on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for pins for you.

Leave the overlay Buteo LOL!!!!!! You must peek at your cultures as often as I do ![]() OCD?? Glad to know I'm not the only one. How's the humidity? Can't wait to see the pin photos when they start jumping off of that 'horrific' case of overlay. LOL

haha im glad u are confident in what seems to me as my failures . LOL. Yea i check them alot bc its my 1st run. Cubensis i neglect...i wont open til they are done....but damn Pans look so weird to me i gotta watch every minute of them! They fit their pupose well both in looks and potency. They just have that creepy look to em you know they are packed with "poison". Thanks myc you def boosted my confidence! oh btw humidity was high but i got it dropped now with more FAE

so after the myc started to look like it was about to dry out i decided to recase. Well it recovered after 2 days so i set it back in the FC. Things are looking better...a small amount of overlay popping up...so lets give this another try . wish me luck lol....iif the myc is still alive the possibilities still remain

Yea i got syringes...u can get nice quality pans from the sponsors. IMO pan myc is much more agressive and colonizes quicker than cubensis. I guess the trick comes in when fruiting them. But i think in the end once you get the fruiting thing down i think pan growers prob have much more success as far as beating the contams. This stuff is quick and will climb right up plastic and out of the tray!
