Quick Casing question???

Hey all, I have a quick question about casings.
Right now I have about 12 QT's of SA & Chilean on rye fully colonized & I cant afford any material to spawn to, Is it ok to go ahead & case the jars with a 70/30 coir/verm casing? Ive always used straw & horse poo so I realy dont know what the outcome will be if I dont use either poo or straw ,should be ok right??????

Make sure the coir and verm are pasteurized and you should be ok.

I've always got it to alittle more than feild capacity then put into a plastic tupperware & then microwaved for 15 mins always worked well..

Yeah should work fine. The old HomeStead shroom kit from back in the day had a video with it and thats how they did it, the fruits will be smaller but there are lots of them!! Good luck

Have you thought about combining those jars into a bulk sub (litter tray / sink bowl / turkey tin) then re-incubating a few days? You don't necessarily need hpoo/straw. Just break em up and let em re-colonize in a tray.
Maybe you could do half the jars one way and half the other way. Just an idea...

Or you could use verm to spawn to - look in the vaults for rez-effect.

awe man! mine never had this video i keep hearing about. of course mine is almost fossilized.

you'll probably have better results actually spawning your jars to the verm/coir mix (rez effect tek), instead of just casing it with verm/coir mix. that way, it will maintain moisture content throughout the substrate and not just at the top. you can throw a casing layer of verm and coir on top too, that won't hurt it.
