![]() | my cakes turned invitro
due to no work, peeking thru cakes every now and then.bc of this maybe, shrooms started to appear from the unopened glass jar. whats better, to fruit ones cakes like this, or let it out of the incubator and fruit like this? this unknown strain is a very fast colonizer, it was faster than the Dark spore syringe (remember the thread "a dark one"?) i used at the same time with this..this is less than 3 weeks from inoculation |

Invitro can be a great way to fruit your jars. There is pretty much no risk for contaminants, as well as, the ability to hide your grow from peeking eyes. You might consider looking at "chronic invitro tek". Basically you are creating an environment that is sealed off from contaminants, but yet you are giveing the fruits more room. I have to say things are looking good though. 3 weeks from incoculation is a pretty impressive speed to see fruits on a BRF cake. You did very well. ![]() ggod |

is it okay to put in into the fc though its not yet 100%percent colonized, i mean bottom part is not yet 100% colonized? and if one puts it into the fc now, wud he get these shrooms that are already in the cakes inside the glass or just let them be into the fc?

PC like everyone said, and I would take the tops off of them and give 'em a bit of light at least. Cover the sides. Maybe even throw some moist verm on top, if theres room. Thats just what I would do, maybe a better solution out there. Give those suckers some room to grow. Looks great 4 u either way.

If it's like 90+%, yeah go for it. If not, honestly, I'd just let em grow in the jar. Wait for some other opinions though.

I would wait until the cakes are 100% colonized before opening the jars. Peel off whatever mushrooms have grown when you birth them. More will grow in your FC. Leave 'em in the dark next time...

Why not let it finish colonizing. It isn't going to hurt anything to let the invitro fruits do their thing. They are ugly, but they are still magical!! ![]() But to each his own.

the invitro fruits as a bonus flush... when the cake's colonized, open the jar, pick fruits, dunk for a few hours, THEN put 'em in the FC. Cutting out uncolonized subs is a great vector for contams, IME. ![]() soliver | |

Really? I've read that cutting out the uncolonized parts would save the rest of colonized cake. Seemed quite logical - avoiding contamination of uncolonized, vulnerable substrate by simply getting rid of it... Everyday learning something. In that case I'd leave that thing in the incubator.

i feel that i would let this be as its my first invitro and its really cool to look at ![]() would let them be in the incubator til 100% col then when colonized-just sit in my room like a display, would that be okay instead of the fruiting chamber? |

I'm pretty inexperienced, but I see you have foil on the lid. If that's the case, you could most likely get away with leaving it out like a trophy... Contams lack arms, legs, and even thumbs, so I doubt they're gonna climb up under the foil and past the lid. Just an educated guess though...
