![]() ![]() | print / 3rd flush questions
My first 2nd flush is almost ready for harvest. If I wanted to make a syringe immediately after, could I just put the mush head directly into a sterilized jar and let it drop it spores there and then mix with sterilized, distilled water and fill up my syringe from there? If so, I guess I wouldn't need to let it rehydrate since it never really dried out. Correct? Also, this is in a kit/bag. I did not dunk after the first flush but want to dunk for the third flush. I dont think putting it back into the bag would be a good idea so I was thinking of using a foil roasting pan and lid but the size would be different. After dunking, could I break up the compost brick (unsure what to call this at this stage) after the dunk and cover with a casing layer? Thanks. |

so you want to put the cap, gill-side down, at the bottom of a sterilized jar to collect the dropping spores, essentially making a spore print at the bottom of the jar instead of on a piece of foil? that sounds like it would work quite well, and in fact, is a really good idea crumbling and casing is always an option, i say go for it!

It is easier to have water in the jar for the spores to drop right in. You just have to suspend the cap above the water. Then you have a nice jar of spore water for many syringes. But just dropping the cap in the jar will work, too, but it's not guaranteed to be as clean.

By ports, do you mean holes in the lid? Should I add the water to the jar then sterilize? (after cooling, suspend the cap) Would it be a good idea to use pillow stuffing in the holes, cover with foil and pc? Would I be able to see the spores in the water to know they dropped? Thanks again for the responses! |
