![]() ![]() | H-poo pasteurization question when using spawn bags
I'm going to be using h-poo with 20% verm as my bulk sub. The h-poo was completely dry so I broke it all down to pretty much straw again. Now, to pasteurize it do I need to go the pillow case and cook on the stove route(to leach it a lil bit)? Then stick in bags after that? Or can I hydrate the sub to the proper amount, stick it into the spawn bags, and pasteurize it in the PC like that? I will then knock up the bags with liquid myc.

the best way to pastuerize is inside burlap bags with a wagner 705 wallpaper steamer. You just put your manure/verm mix in the burlap bag, hose it down realy good, then put the bag in a vessel that has the hose from the steamer inserted into it.

Good luck!

I would say yes if they are designed to put up with the heat. You could even just go get some GLAD oven bags for pasteurization. Much cheaper and you can keep the spawn bags for later uses if they have filter patches etc....
