Cloning & Albinos

So, I read a bunch of people talking about albinos and how great they are. Forgive me entheomycologists, but I'm ignorant as to what makes them so great. I'm cloning and taking prints from albino-like fruits I've collected.

"albino-like" is kind of a stretch, those still have a good deal of pigment in the caps, which makes them not really albinos at all. they are simply lighter than normal. these are what true albinos look like:

(c/o workman)

nothing is particularly "great" about albinos, except that they look really cool!!

I've had some pale fruits on the second flush on straw. Maybe the first flush uses most of the nutrients that help with pigments. just a thought. The spores were dark purple as usual.

And what about clonning? If I starting with an albino tissue shroom a clone procedure in agar, I would be isolating an albino strain ?
I think if I collect spores from an albino shroom IŽll not have albinos shroom in the next grow with this print, I wouldŽve?

Nice little whites =]

And sorry about my gramatical mistakes =T

if you isolate tissue from an albino fruit and propagate it, you will be cloning the albino fruit and get only albino fruits.

if you take a spore print from an albino, chances are high you will get pigmented fruits if you grow from those spores (depending on how many genes control the expression of pigment, whether the genes are on the same chromosome, and how much genetic recombination occurs during spore formation). you will probably also get some albinos too though.

the falbino is a good example, giving a mix from multispore .

that is cool are they significantly more potent than the pigmented PE? if so, the genes for pigmentation and potency may be genetically linked..... fascinating stuff i genetics

APE
doesn't grow so good according to sporeworks - 'novelty' is how it's described.
PE uncut
is better choice imo .

exactly. the only thing i would change here is that the spore print would have to have some pigmented (purple) spores to potentially produce pigmented fruit. so far all pure albino (white ot clear) spores.. at least any related to the PF Albino have only produced pure albino fruits that i am aware of. hehe and i type albino into a lot of search engines on a regular basis. i know.. i'm a freak. anyways, in the case of the PFA genetics i believe it to be the end of the line as far as pigmentation goes.

here's a few helpful links.. wiki is such a great research tool and can lead to info one didn't even know existed.
