Trying to jump back into everything and cant remember.I have a Quart jar with 800 mils of water honey/Karo 1 1/2 teaspoon of each.and it has been a week and only about 1/8 colonized with mycelium.Should i leave it in the 90 degree temps for much longer or go with what I've got and refrigerate it? Thanks

For longevity, toss in the fridge... Couldn't tell you how long it's good for since I haven't started my own yet, but I read that the use of an airport and a seperate syringe will allow you to let fresh air in. Swirl it to help oxidize the water so the myc doesn't drown...

I have one that is a week and a half old from multi spore, GOLDEN TEACHERS ( I love em sorry). Looking thick and ropey... I imagine it will be done eating the nutes up in a week or two then its time to make three more and throw one in the fridge..... I don't use filters on my jars so I -think- I have a little better chance against contams but it's hard to say. They will be used up long before they can go bad in the fridge. I would say 2-3 weeks with the right sugar content is good before throwing them in the fridge, from my personal experience.

contams grow faster at warmer temperatures too. if it gets too warm that can stress mycelia, slowing growth and if contams are present they can speed ahead and take over. but not to worry, i have fruited many large potent mushrooms when the temperature was 90s, just need to give them fae . of course in a lc it's a bit different, but still a good shaking daily to dissolve some air into the lc is smart.

Hippie hit the nail on the head for me... As long as you stay under 100 you can get far, but to keep other stuff that may be in there, it's better in the 80s. Don't get me wrong, I've seen my TiT hit 92 when it was fully loaded... Had to unplug it, temp stayed stable at 92 for a day, then I started pulling jars out cause I knew it wasn't the heater malfunctioning... If everything is perfect, 90 is no big deal, but following stamet's advice is best. Keep it in the 80s. Besides, that thing we call perfection...doesn't exist. Engineers design things on paper that would would in a perfect world all the time...but the end product always needs revision. Always good to leave room for tolerances.
