![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bulk Hpoo tubs fruiting
Just thought I'd throw some pics up of a bulk project I've seen at a friends house. Multispore on WBS spawned to hpoo/coir/verm tubs...EQ's, Malabar's, B+'s, and South American's. 2 1/2 weeks after birth from spawn/hpoo incubation. My friend just picked a few handfuls of boomers that were either spraying spores or just about to. Otherwise, she's gonna let these tubs fruit out to get an even flush. Stay tuned for more aggressive fruiting in the very near future. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey thx Toad and Labyrinth! My friend mixed hpoo, coir, and verm in a 4:1:1 ratio, then pasteurized, cooled overnight, and mixed with 7 quarts of spawn per tub (4 tubs all together). Left to incubate for 10 days. Three of the tubs are fruiting with pretty nice pinsets, the last one is coming along, just a bit slower. She added lime instead of calcium carbonate in two of the tubs, which wasn't the recommended ingredient, but it's seemed to work so far (she guesses whatever balances out the pH correctly).

Thanks for the feedback ya'll. All of the teks and posts that my friend has been reading here at Mycotopia, for the last year or so, have been filed away mentally, and are integrated in how she goes about mushrooming. ![]() I've noticed on these tubs (and others I've seen online) that a lotta really great pin action seems to develop on the edges of these tubs...and it got me thinking....(already a dangerous proposition)... I was thinking of recommending to my friend to cut all around one of the cakes, maybe about 2-3 inches or so in, and take these 'edgings' and fruit them vertically, allowing for maximum exposure to light/FAE/humidity. Not sure if ya'll get where I'm going with this, and it might be wrought with danger contam wise, but it would afford all those side pins a direction to grow....instead of hiding/containing them in a cramped, condition-unfriendly spot in the tub. I dunno, I might see what my friend has to say about this cause I think it could be a cool tek if done correctly.

Well, if I had to pick the most prolific fruitier as of yet, I'd say the Ecuadorian's kicked the most ass (although the B+ are surprising me on cakes as of late). The EQ's were fast pinning and maturing...a friend tried 1.6 grams of them last night and had a SOLID trip report today. But, as has been said numerous times by men and women much more savvy and experienced then I ( ![]() ![]() ), a cube is a cube. I truly believe this, and any variances in strengths are negligible or based solely on a person's body chemistry at a given time when partaking.

I've never had the best of luck with EQ. GT's always treat me really well and once I get some of them rolling I will probably stick with them for a little while until I fully get my feet wet again. Nice harvest Funny1 and more to come for you I'm sure.

Well the GT's are freakin awesome, and when it comes down to it, they'll get you as twisted as EQ's or any other cube. And in the end game, gettin that twist on, with some quality and size, is where it's at.

you suggest, but if you have a 'surplus' tub sometime, I'd be curious to see the results of your proposition. ![]() soliver | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Oh you had me all wrong lol. I meant as far as colonization time to pinning to final yield.... Sorry to make that unclear. I know how well they all work once they are done haha.

Thanks Soliver, I think I'm gonna give one of those tubs a try like you said, because the possibilities seem bountiful. And no worries Gadget, I knew exactly what you meant. ![]() I was simply saying that not only in potency, but in growing parameters, cubes are cubes are cubes. EQ's are said to be one of the easier varieties to grow, as they pin/fruit early, and are of decent size/potency. The same has been said for GT's...especially for me back in the day with PF cakes. I know some forest elves that would love to try GT's again...still one of the purtiest boomers out there.

Just thought I'd show some updated pics of Martha's boomers. It's quite a mix, between well-developed specimens, and some mutations that are very unique.

Thanks Gadget! Martha tries to pick only the ripest boomers, hoping it'll free up moisture that smaller booms could use. What's great is I don't think Martha has even seen the best flushes yet...so many pins developing and popping up everyday. She might have been 'over fanning' a bit too much earlier in fruiting, not taking into account all of the 'shotgun holes' and polyfill holes that play a regular part in FAE. The whole 'CO2 initiating pinning' advice was forgotten temporarily, but glad to re-read others post about it. Thanks Mycotopia!
