How big are Z shrooms?

Hey yall. So my pcorn cake pinned nicely and has about 10 shrooms and a few more clusters of pins. The bigger shrooms in the bunch are about 2-2.5 inches long, and the caps are less than 1/2 inch in diameter, some of them only about 1/4 inch. The veils are breaking, so I know it's time to harvest. Is this how big they are supposed to be? They seem so small, I thought they would be bigger. It's so hard to get a sense of scale in alot of pics I've looked at.

Sorry for the noob question, but this is my first time growing, and first experience with fresh cubies. They've always been dried, and usually powdered by the time I got them.

I've never grown Zs before but they should get bigger than that.Could be your cakes are a bit dry and need to be dunked.Also,its been my experience that the first flush wasnt all that big but after a 12 hr dunk,or so,the second flush on was more impressive.Good luck friend,let us know how things worked out for you.PEACE

they tend to get bigger if you do a bulk. More nutes

I think it's cuz it's a pcorn cake. I was told there could be small fruits due to water retention by the cakes. It was just a fun experiment.. that got me my first fruits LOL

I don't know how much my mini harvest weighs, scales won't be here till at least Saturday, just ordered them this week. 8 had their veils broken so I picked them. Biggest one is 2.5 inches long, smallest is just over 1.5. Biggest cap is just a hair under .5 inch, the rest are all slightly bigger than 1/4 inch. I ate the 8 shrooms I picked at 4:45. Half hour later and I'm starting to feel it.

I'll definetly be comparing the to the bulk trays I have going on. They are just a few days behind, lots of pins growing

Thanks. Not really doing anything though. Started to feel a lil bit, then it kind of petered out. Definetly wasn't enough. Oh well. These trays should be ready for picking Sunday *fingers crossed* and I'm off work on Monday

Not sure if you knew or not, but even though you didn't get your trip on, there is a good chance that trying on sunday may not work for you. I'm not saying it wont, but if you don't put enough time in between trips, the magic just isn't there. This is of course assuming you're planning on using your off day to recuperate. If you plan on taking a lil spiritual journey monday, that might work out well...

z strain has always been a great performer on cakes for me. they were actually the largest shrooms i had ever grown on cakes. its hard to say anything definite about any multispore innoculation, but i really like the z.
