Does the surface of these clumps look kind of effervescent? Like little gas bubbles are trying to force their way up through it? If so, you're probably looking at wet bubble. Sorry. If the blobs get little amber beads of liquid on them, that's your confirmation.

do you remember a Pin being were the clumps are? If it is Mycogone some people carefully remove the clump and sprinkle baking soda on affected area. I have no experience with it. I just read about it.

The fungus that causes wet bubble is commonly found in soil. Did you use bagged compost in your substrate mix? If so, the whole thing is infected and excising the blobs will not make it go completely away. The safest thing to do is trash the whole thing. You wouldn't eat those weird looking, oozy blobs, would you? ![]() If you used the bagged compost, what was your PC procedure?

I had three jars completely colonized with GT, one had wet bubble. I cased them all together like a dumb ass and the whole tub went sour. Mycelium wouldn't even take to the casing. Tossed 'em out. Wasted two good cakes.

Control: The highest standards of hygiene are essential for the control wet bubble. Other methods of control are as follows: 1. Avoid soil movement near mushroom houses especially on windy days. Take measures to avoid the accumulation of dust in the vicinity of mushroom houses and also dust movement into the vicinity of mushroom houses. 2. It is essential to control flies and every effort should be made to prevent their entry into cropping houses. 3. Infected bags should be picked last, to minimize the risk of pickers spreading spores. 4. Picking trays should not be set on the ground in the production house as dust is attracted to the sides of the trays by static electricity. 5. As diseased mushrooms appear they should be removed from the beds using a cloth or sponge soaked in disinfectant and then placed in a bucket containing disinfectant. 6. 'Table' salt on top of tissue paper can be used to contain disease. 7. All ventilation filters should be replaced after each crop |
