so im back for another round  im going to pasteurize my coco/verm in the toaster oven( only thing i got aside from my PCer) and mix in the corn like i did before, and hope this time i will not get a contamination... anyway here is the jars of corn i got, the one on the top right is not 100% done but im going to keep it for a g2g anyway. the other three jars are 100% done, i hope they will be enugh to fill the tub i got... worst case ill use smaller pans.  |

thanx sagiboy, but i have perlite allready... are you suggesting i put it on the bottom of the tub? and yah , i know those websites... im a regular at one of them if not both its a small country, so you only left out the one other hydro store there is  |

| they got the bag covering them from the top, so i guess a littler air could come from the sides... but i will make holes just in case so when you say mega cake you mean to take it out of the pans and put it stright on the perlite to fruite? |

and then there were two... one of the pans got contaminated so i tossed it... each jar filled one pan, so i guess the contam got there from the jar and i didnt see it. so these two look good to me, i guess one is a 100% and the other one is 95% one more day of darkness and then let there be light and shrooms  |

Just be patient...you are doing well, young padewan... Letting the visible substrate fully colonize before starting fruiting helps to stave off contaminants. I would start fruiting conditions on the lower tray in 24 hours. The upper tray may still want an extra day or two. By upper and lower I mean from the photograph you posted.

thanx guy's, but thing are not loking well... i think i can smell it... i think the two pans might be contaminated... i guess ill know for sure tonight or tomorow if it is or not... if not i will have to start over from scratch |

yepp. had that feeling that if one goes bad all three will eventually... sux indeed. next time cover with tin foil and poke holes until 100% colonization. out of spawn?

hey sagiboy, i had that feeling too, but i did cover them up with tin foil and poked holes in them. maybe not enugh FAE and yah, im out of spawn at the moment... hey zozo, i also hope yours will be OK ill keep my fingesrs crossed for you  |

so i have one pan left, i didnt see trich on it, just smelled it in the box. so i left it alone and the smell stoped and it started to fruite... i did see trich in the other two pans i threw away, and i thought the third one has it too b/c i saw small white dots like i saw in the past when i had trich... so im confused now... are the white dots a sighn of trich or the start of pins? anyway here are the pics of the one good pan i got.   |

thanx sagiboy excellent thread indeed irishlion, thanx alot. its a good thing i asked before i tossed this one out as well i was sure it was trich b/c the trich is also whiteball based in a way, but the white balls are bigger and apear around the trich spot, or maybe that to is just primordia right before pinning? thank you BackarooBanzai whats up zozo  hey there Mystic  |

Just read through your grows and grats. though i have yet to knock up my first jars you give me hope. honestly though from what i know about mold i would of tossed the whole first batch, guess thats why i am inspired, you kept at it and followed the advice and it led to some good shrooms and a better weekend. .....off to call that supposed FOAF |

Good Job Shroomzion! One thing that has caused contams for me is leaving popcorn exposed on the top of the substrate layer. Now I use a layer of poo/verm or whatever substrate I use on the very top completely covering all my popcorn. It seems to help. I can't wait to see how those pins turn out. They look healthy.

thanx guy's i have some questions regarding cloning... i was planing on taking a nice sized shroom and slice it like i saw in some TEK and use that to colonize jars of corn. but so far im getting only small one's... can i use a peice of myc to colonize a Pcorn jar? i have a feeling te mycelum is not hydrated enugh b/c the pan feels kind of lite, maybe it got dry along the way... anyway will that cause small shroom? b/c last time they were alot bigger and its the same mycelum as then. also, what can i do to rehydrate the pan without giving up the 1st flush? b/c i could just pic everything off and dunk it now, for a better 2nd flush if hydration is indeed the problem. i will post pics later on, before i do anything just so you can see what im talking about  |

I can personally vouch for Irish's corn tek and the lid preparation. FOAF has done this to the letter and has 5 jars colonizing very well now that were knocked up 7 days ago. One jar hasn't shown much in the way of mycelium yet, but since it was his first try, he thinks it was a little excess verm that might be slowing down growth. The other 4 jars are moving along quite nicely. 2 were inoculated with LC and 3 with spores. No contams in any of them yet. Looks like you got everything right at this point, excellent job, shroomzion! FOAF is going to do his first bulk grow as soon as his jars colonize all the way. You have set the example for this process.

thanx irishlion, yah i hope ill get a nice flush this time last time i got bigger shrooms from the same KSSS LC, but i guess anything could happen... and i am going to use the biggest shroom to inoculate some more popcorn jars. also i dont think i can eat fresh shrooms, the last time i did was in amsterdam, and after that i couldnt eat any mushrooms for a year and i did eat up to 2.5g dried from the KSSS i have grown so far, and yah i know they are potent little things packed with color, and a very good body high... |

(though i got over it) nowdays i just dont eat the pulp. making tea from more (80fresh 10dry) but no stomach issues at all. was very surprised under 10g dry how clean and neat it felt. recommended.

thanx sagiboy, i might try that TEK... thank god i dont have a problem to eat them dry hey zodd nice avatarthanx for visiting here is another pic of the pan, you can see i got a big one in there, so im going to clone it in to some bags i made today   im going to colonize six bags with that big shroom i got in the pan. and use the rest of the spore water i made in the begining on the one bag and the jars. hopefully somthing will take... allso im testing these bags and i hope they work well, b/c i want to stop using jars, and use these bags to spwan to bulk i have used these bags before, when i pasturized my coir/verm mix in the PC , so i know they will hold together... |
