pre dunk maintenance?

I'm harvesting first flush on one of my minibulks and I'm curious... Do I need to pick it clean, or can the little pins stay behind for the dunk?

from what i've gleamed from people here is that you should pick it as clean as possible but you don't have to get every tiny pin, then run it under water from the faucet at a moderate pressure... this is suppose to allow better 2nd, 3rd, etc. flushes.... seems to work from experience

You can leave small healthy pins.

i like to pick it clean, personally. IME anything left behind gets slimy and nasty after a dunk.

i like to pick them off too
they get nasty and are more prone to rot after being dunked
i do a light shave with a blade before a dunk
in order to off all mushroom growth

Mine have been aborting or rotting if I don't pick em.....
