BRF Tek - mazatapec stain

i am planning on starting my first grow in a couple of weeks using the BRF Tek and using the Mazatapec growong strain, i havnt had much look finding much info about this strain and it would be good to have a little more info on the stain for example its history, growing habbits etc

i have everything i need to start apart from the mycelium spore syringe that i am currently waiting for.

i will be making a blog of my efforts and will post them as i go along

I grew it out on some BRF cakes a few years ago. I was also growing AMZ and GT at the same time, so I got confused with what was what. I can say with assurance that it was potent, but that is about it. Search some old grow logs.

Maz tend to grow kind of slow. Colonization speeds a bit longer than average so don't freak out. They grow smallish, dense fruits but pack quite a whallop.

i have now started the mazatapec strain they are currently on day 4 of the colonisation process one of the 5 jars is coliniseing very fast where as the others are slightly slower im hoping that they will be fully colinised in about a week and a half, 2 weeks. so far i have had no problems with any contaminants. it is really cool watching the mycelium grow each day, i am hoing to have completed them in about 3 4 weeks. i am also planning on isolating one of the shrooms to clone it so that more mushrooms can be grown. any advise on cloning would be great as i am slightly confused about the whole process, there seams to be alot of methods out there i am considering using the agar method but am yet to find a document that explains it in a good simple way butr at the same time been very informative.
i have a little knowledge on how this is done i.e. it involves taking a stem cell from a fully grown mushroom then using that to create new mycelium syringes.

yea i sorta no what im doing now, everything seams to be going well so far i am also in the middle of writing up a mushroom grow guide explaining every step that i went thru with some additional info in there. this is why i am wanting to find out what other methods are out there so that i can try them out and report back the results, the document when finished will be made into a .PDF document and posted in a new thread so everyone can comment about it and hoopefully critisise it and give me new ideas to add to it as there are so many different methods that can be used in each stage of the growing process, the document is aimed to give simple, usefull advise to people like myself that are intreaged about this sort of stuff.

Remember when the jars colonize 100%
Let them sit for another week
so that the middle of the cake will colonize also.

so far so good i have not had any problems with them . i was not aware that they should be left an extra week after they have fully colonised, it makes complete sence tho, thanks for that advise. . i have had a quike look throug them links i understand some of it but i still think that it could be explained in a more simple way than what they have been.
is there any difference in using prints instead of mycelium syringes as looking at it they do exactly the same think, i have been advised by a friend that syringes are better to use but i can see what you saying about use prints as you can produce more. are there any advantages to using this method rather than the syringe

Well in order to make a print, you have to grow a mushroom first. Since this is your first grow, you'll have to wait to make a print till later.

As for print versus syringe, you will need to make a choice on how complicated you want to get this first time out. If you order a syringe from a vendor, it will be all ready to go right out of the box. Just shoot the spore water into your sterile jars and you'll be on your way. If you order a print from a vendor, you will need additional preparation to get the spores off of that print and into a syringe so you can shoot your jars. However, one print will make a lot of syringes and you'll get more bang for the buck.

EDIT: I went back and read the thread more carefully and realized you were talking about cloning. You can't really clone using a syringe since you won't be able to suck up tissue from the mushroom you want to clone. Or am i misunderstanding you?
