Mycro mix bag average yield?

Sorry if this is a common question, but I did a search and nothing useful turned up.
I was wondering if anyone knows that average yield of mycrotopia's grow bags if one wanted to grow some cubensis. I'm sure I could surmise an amount, and I know it would vary from strain to strain, but I'm a bit weary of giving these things a shot, since I have yet to see any grow logs of people using these bags, which I thought was strange considering it's the sister site of this one.
The reason I need to know is because I'd like to see if it's worth the money that I put into it initially, as opposed to other methods such as monotubs and the like. I know a mono would be much more difficult in terms of labor and cleanliness, but it would definitely be cheaper...by far. Thanks in advance for your help.

I too am very interested in average yields with the mycro mix bags.
I'm also very interested in average yields with exotics on the pancake bags.
I'm trying to figure out if its worth fruiting some mycro mix invitro for the speed as opposed to spawning rye to sandbags. The bags have 3 cups, the sandbags 24 so the desparity in the substrate is large. One thing about the mycromix bags tho is after a flush Im sure you could easily remove the substrate, dunk it, and then put it in a ziplock bag with polyfill at the top or fruit like a log whereas the sandbags are bigger and from what ive seen would be much clumsier and hard to dunk or change bags without breaking it up

I would say sandbags are a more advanced method than the mycrobags, since they require various steps of colonization and spawning, plus they're not available presterilized, which is my main reason for even considering the mycrobags.

Edit: I stand corrected, I didn't even see that mycrotopia had sandbags. Still though, spawning is required, as opposed to the mycrobags, which could be fruited as is with likely fantastic results. I just wish I had some firsthand accounts of their reliability, which I don't doubt in the slightest, but some reassurance would be nice.

If you havent done monotubs before I definately recommend you try hippies bags as they come perfectly prepared and sterilizd with the perfect substrate and moisture content. One of the hardest things about monotubs is preparing the substrate you need to get all the materials break it up to an even consistency which means cutting straw and breaking up shit, then you got to mix it all up and get the moisture content right, in anticipation of the fact that you now need to pasteurize it to an internal temp of 160 and its going to lose moisture in this process.
Once you have colonized spawn and pasteurized substrate all you have to do is drill some air holes in a tub, put a garbage bag in it, dump the substrate and the spawn in and mix it all up, put the lid on, cover it with a garbage bag for a week then leave it in a room with some light and a fan and dont open it till harvest time. If you want to do monotubs for the first time I suggest you order hippies horse and donkey shit and follow that tek. If you want simple go with the mycrobags and follow this tek inoculate, wait, harvest. Only thing about them is they might suffer from lack of air exchange but you could cut some slits int he bag when its colonized

Each is filled with aprroximately 1.5 gallons of a 50/50 mix of pre-pasteurized Coir and Donkey Doo ready for you to add the spawn of your choice.
-From mycrotopia.com

Sandbags are more advanced than mycrobags.
Mycrobags:
1.Inoculate
2.Turn on a light and a fan
3.Harvest
Sandbags:
1. Colonize spawn
2. Open sandbag, dump in spawn, mix it up, close it
3. Turn on a light and a fan
4. Harvest

Mycrobags take probably 2 weeks to colonize, a week for pinning, a couple days for harvest, basically a month till first fruits.
Sandbags take 2 weeks to colonize spawn, a week to colonize sandbag, a week for pins, a couple days for harvest, basically 5 weeks.
Mycrobags have 3 cups of substrate. Sandbags have 24.
I wonder if "pound for pound" the supercake mix is a better substrate for fruting than the coir/donkey doo of the sandbags

To answer my own question, even if one bag yielded a quarter ounce, which is an absurdly small amount, it would be worth it, considering the total yield would then be 2.5 ounces, which would be more than enough to make back the $50 I would have paid for the 10 bags. In short, I think they're worth it. I was just curious what the common yield actually was, which I hope someone will answer eventually.

Wink

We dont sell mushrooms round these parts, and neither do you, remember?

And yes the bags do pay for themselves. First of all theyre prepared by Hip which guarantees the quality and pride in the work that I guarantee you're not going to get ordering substrate from any other vendor. Youre getting presterilized bags prepared by one of the legends in this game with perfect preperation, ingredients, and moisture content, ideal conditions that come from decades of experience. Then calculate the price. You can get 20 spawn bags for $60, each containing 3 cups of substrate. That's 60 cups, or 60 quart jars of spawn, for $60. If you were using jars you could spend that much on the jars alone never mind the substrate or filters. Especially the mycromix it has so many different ingredients it would definately be more expensive to do it yourself not to mention finding everything and getting the mix right, why bother? Just get the premium shit straight from the og at a great price and support the site

One thing I am interested in is anyone thats used mycrotopia is how safe is it to order to your grow address? Is there anything on the package distinguishing what it is? Do orders have to be signed for?

Good point. I wonder the same thing. It's always a risk to order equipment to your address, but I suppose it's a risk we all have to take.

Also, who ever said anything about selling mushrooms? I have a machine that turns mushrooms into money.

Great to hear that hip, I imagine all those things still apply to orders to Canada? I'm right about to find a new apartment to rent and will be putting in an order soon as I get the place but right now have no idea how the mail situation will work out, I just want to be sure that even if all mail/packages goes through the landlord that theyd be none the wiser

yeah, we ship to canada regularly
but there's an extra shipping fee per box.
it's listed on the mycrotopia site in the shipping section.
