![]() | Dishsoap dunk?
I always seem to have trouble with straw logs contaminating after a post-flush dunk so I got to thinking that in addition to the low bleach solution what if I mixed in just a touch of dish soap with it. I believe the active chemical is triclosan. I know that triclosan is probably an anti-mycotic as we as anti bacterial, but I though in a very low concentration it might not harm the log. Any thoughts as to whether or not this would work? Or more importantly, be harmful in some way? |

No I pasteurize at 160 for an hour and a half. I agree, sterilizing is bad. I got some jet-dri finish, would this work. Also how about Kirkland dish washing detergent? Do these soaps do anything as far as warding off contams, or do they just aid in water absorption Hip? |

The soap decreases the surface tension of the water, it does not aid in fighting off the contams.
