![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nothing but spores and coir.... ........Is there any way to start a spore syringe on nothing but coir? I have my pc and jars and such, 6 syringes, but no cash (literally penniless! ) and maybe only ONE cup of brown rice left over! My coffee grinder blew up, too !!!( so I guess that if I was to supplement the coir with this meager amount of brown rice, it would have to be UnGround). Oh, I also might have a few cups of birdseed, too. What can I do now? Please, help! .......(very)hungryjim

Why not use 9er tek for the brown rice, and prepare the wbs too. And then just inoculate the number of jars you can prepare with what you have. Maybe you'll have money for some more brown rice or WBS by the time they're colonized, and then you can easily multiply the spawn by grain-to-grain transfer.

As for what to tell the manager, rice is a good source for making bread as long as it is in flour form.

Good for you. Things work out sometimes thankfully. For grinding rice, I have a KitchenAid coffee grinder--paid about $30 for it, I guess. I have used it A LOT for around 3 years, and it seems unphased by the rice grinding. I burned up a cheaper grinder before that, but it was more plastic than metal. Just pick up something heavy duty when you are ready to invest. I don't think I would have the cajoles to grind rice on the coffee aisle of the local grocery, but I can almost see Soliver doing it. He is classic. |

SWIM uses a cheap blender to grind brown rice, and it works fine.

I use a coffeemate brand grinder. I've been useing it a year and a half. It gets real warm, almost hot, when I am useing it. But it keeps on working. I grind five pounds of rice everytime i use it so it seems to be a good grinder.

I have a Braun coffee grinder that I've had for at least 4 years. I blend in pulses. It never runs for more than 6-9 seconds. I've never noticed it getting hot. But all I ever grind in it is BRF and mushrooms (Psillys and Amis)

which was pretty obvious already. He said "why?" I responded, "because you don't sell ground rice." He left me alone then... no more problems ![]() I got the idea from a kratom vendor who sent me once 3 kilos of crushed leaf instead of powdered.... apparently in Indonesia, the local grinder is expected to do just that, for anything. I thought it was a great idea. The trick is not to look furtive or guilty.... if they SOLD ground rice, it'd be different (maybe), but they don't... so... ![]() soliver | |
