My first casing - a big success!!

Well after spending 4 months in the forums and mainly in the archives..
I put together my own tek using pieces from others to tailor a process for my situation and finances.

It worked amazingly...

I used Hawaiian and Australian strains and the pic tells it all.

Both strains had three 12"x12" cases.
All the casings are getting dunked for 24 hours as soon as i finish this post.
Dry weight is right at 5 1/4 ounces.

I used a WBS spawn then cased with 1:1 verm/worm castings.

Not like there needs to be another one on these forums, but i'll throw my tek up soon.

I also have a PF strain that i put in the chamber several days ago.. here are the pics of them right now.

I saw a lot of pins on the side, why you don´t put a dark thing there to avoid this?

Actually on my Hawaiians and the Aussi's i covered the sides and bottom with black duct tape and it worked awesome.. simple answer to your observation.. i ran out of duct tape and was too lazy to go get more.. lol!!

I do need to find an alternative to the tape though.. i forsee problems in the future as I simply take the whole casing -tray and all and dunk them..
I need to see about a paint or other covering.. tried spray painting one black but the paint just flecked off - even when I sanded the sides before painting.. idk.

Krylon makes a paint for plastic, as well as other surfaces. I've not used it but a friend used it on some resin patio furniture and swears by the stuff.

I saw someone make a dummy container that was covered in black tape, they just slid their casing container into the dummy container and it looked like it worked. There is also the classic black plastic lining route. If you want to paint it, be sure to get plastic specific paint.

I don't really know what will work though for when the sub shrinks up in later flushes.

I don't usually save pictures of harvests just pinsets and stuff, but if that is your first casing then you are off to a great start. Much props, much respect.

Actually it was straight spore syringes bought from a sponser.
2 jars per tray (quart size jars)
3 trays of each strain.
