why not just use brf and verm?

it's tried and true, and there's a reason for that. probably cuz it's most effective!

Easy answer: no.

You need to start spores on grain or PF cakes, then you start the straw with the grain/cakes. That is called spawning - using colonized grain/cakes to start a bulk substrate.

No, dosen't work.. Dont try poo ither.. WBS works great.. Even just straight brown rice.. Straw will work great after you have spawned to grain, but never try to spawn to anything but grain
