Smile Growing Reishi from Clone And Spores

After finding some local wild reishi I was hoping my friend would be able to clone it to start growing a culture. Has anyone worked on cloning wild reishi from the southeast?

BTW how do you use the spores on a polypore like this to germinate on agar? just like any other species?

When Reishi is putting off spores you will know about it. I had some blocks that I absent-mindedly threw in the woods. A month or two later I stumbled upon them and the whole forest floor around them was covered in red spores.

You can pretty easily wipe spores right off the bottom pores when they are present. These things are prolific sporulators.

As far as culturing them Reishi mycelium grows super fast. But the fruits grow super slow so it may take some time to make a productive fruiting isolation.
