![]() ![]() | How long to PC pint BRF jars?
So I have all kinds of LC around here and havnt had any luck with WBS spawn(I know my problem, I've been leaving it too wet). I'd rather not use it anyways and just use BRF jars instead. I wanna try using pint jars instead of the usual half pint and see how things work out. I'm hoping things work out well since I will be using LC instead of spores. I have the jars in the PC right now, how long would you guys recommend I have them in there?

I like to go 60 minutes on pints... Also, keep in mind that you need to strive to get enough LC in each hole to run down the side toward the bottom of the jar. The closer to the bottom you can initiate growth the faster the pint will colonize and help prevent any problems with stalled growth or contaminants.

30 minutes can work with cakes. 60 is safer and what I do. The only problem with pint cakes can be how long they take to colonize. As mentioned above, use plenty of LC. You could easily get away with a full 1mL per inoculation hole - probably 1.5mL. What temp will you be using for incubation?

Just went and picked me up another 60 pint jars. Got em filled with BRF and PC'ing them now. What temp should the jars be incubated at? And what temp should I incubate my monotubs at during colonization? I havnt really had to worry about incubating things until recently since the weather is chilly now.
