I am going to do 2 tubs both with 50/50 coir/hpoo spawned with popcorn . I bought a small brick of Bed a Beast and mixed it with 1 gallon of boiling water in a bucket...it has been 4 hours and it is still a little warm to touch is it ok to mix it with my poo and spawn or should i wait?? It sure does make the bucket humid I see why the coir is so good for shrooms

BTW I also have some brf jars that are almost colonized would it hurt to break them up and toss them in with the popcorn to increase the spawn to sub ratio??

I would wait a little while for the coir to cool. It could be hot enough to kill mycelium if it's still warm to the touch. You could always cover and refrigerate.

If the cakes are the same source as the corn, that would be okay. Personally I would let the cakes colonize completely before doing anything with them.

Coir by itself is a pretty decent bulk substrate, and mycelium loves it, which is good for us growers.

Wait until it is all colonized and mix the cakes and the popcorn up. It will work fine. I would wait until that coir is pretty cool. If it's too hot you'll damage the myc and have a nightmare on your hands.
