You should only be concerned about trich being in your coir if you buy a brand of coir packaged for plant use specifically. They sell these at hydroponic stores, although I have found organic coir at a hydro store before and have never had a trich outbreak from it. Your coir is fine though for sure. I haven't seen any bricks of coir with trich in them.

i usually use 'ecoearth' which is ment for reptile bedding. but IMO if you PC or Pasturize your substrare or bulk (which is allways done anyway) you should have no prob. contams really are nothing to worry about before your steralization, its after that that you want to worry. everything in your substrate will be killed when its kept at 15 psi / 250*F for an hour or so. after that its the integrety of your jars you should be worried about.
